The AC164129 is a Audio PICtail Plus Daughter Board is an audio extension board used with the Explorer 16 Development Board to facilitate rapid implementation, development and testing of full duplex speech and audio applications. The card features low cost speech and audio playback circuitry, microphone and line pre amp with adjustable gain control, headphone amplifier, 16/24bit codec for high fidelity applications and 4Mega bit serial flash memory. The card also features circuitry required for the dsPIC DSC devices with Audio DAC. This product is also part of the Human Interface Program. The Audio PICtail Plus Daughter Board fits into the expansion slot on the Explorer 16 Development Board and interfaces between an external audio device and the dsPIC33F or PIC24H device on the Explorer 16 Development Board. The output signals from the Audio PICtail Plus Daughter Board are appropriately amplified for the selected output line or speaker.

To avoid damage to the Audio PICtail Plus Daughter Board, the 28 Pin Starter Development Board must operate at +3.3V when it is connected to the Audio PICtail Plus Daughter Board.
